Twice each year the Monroe-Chester Sportsmen
Club sponsors a "Youth Day" as a way to expose and educate our
children and young adults to different shooting and archery activities in a
safe and positive environment. Experienced instructors demonstrate each
activity and work with each participant stressing safety in activities that
are appropriate for the participant's age and abilities. Younger children
might be taught how to shoot a size appropriate pellet gun while a older
teenager will get to shoot on the trap range. Activities include 22 rifle,
shotgun including trap, skeet and 5 stand sporting clays, air rifle, archery
and black powder shooting KIDS MUST BE 12 YEARS OLD TO SHOOT BUT YOUNGER KIDS CAN SHOOT ARCHERY
AND AIR RIFLE. Activities begin at 8:30 A.M.at Main Club House |

Some of the appeal of
shooting black powder is that it represents the history of America from the
time of the American Revolution and the Civil War. Several instructors
demonstrate several different types of black powder guns from several
historical periods. |

For those who are old enough
and want to, they can take a turn shooting a black powder gun under the
watchful eye and guidance of a qualified instructor |
